About Us

Small in scale, deliberate in every detail

A Place Made with Intention

The Rincon Rooms began with a simple idea: to create a place that feels considered, but never overdone.

Every decision was guided by restraint—what to include, what to leave out, and how a space should feel when you wake up in it. The result is something quiet and grounded. Not designed to impress, but to stay with you.

A place shaped by the people who call this home

Rooted Here

Your hosts and proprietors, Justin Klentner and Amanda Masters, have spent the past two decades living and working in Carpinteria, shaping a life here that made this place inevitable. The culture of polo and horses — so woven into the identity of Carpinteria and the nearby fields where afternoons stretch long beneath the coastal light — has long been part of that rhythm, a quiet marker of the town’s character and pace. The Rincon Rooms were created as an extension of all of it. A place that feels less like a hotel and more like something quietly familiar. It is meant for retreat as much as for arrival, if only for a little while.
